It is with great joy that I extend a warm welcome to all the students of Islampur College. As we celebrate our Golden Jubilee this year, marking 50 years of a journey filled with growth and excellence since our founding on December 4, 1973, we reflect on the milestones achieved.
Nestled in the enchanting landscapes of the Northern region of West Bengal, amidst picturesque tea gardens, and strategically located on the Siliguri Corridor, Islampur College stands as a beacon of academic excellence.
With a student body exceeding 14,000, our college takes pride in being recognized as one of the largest and most prominent educational institutions in West Bengal. We remain dedicated to providing quality education and fostering an environment that encourages intellectual growth and holistic development.
Beginning with the academic year 2023-2024, Islampur College has embraced the New Education Policy, aligning itself with the latest advancements in education. Affiliated with North Bengal University, Siliguri, we offer honours graduation courses in Arts, Commerce, Mathematics, and Science.
Our campus, spread across more than 13 acres, boasts state-of-the-art facilities. The library, science labs, and spacious classrooms cater to a wide range of subjects, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all. To enhance inclusivity, we provide a large hostel for minority female students, along with a separate hostel for SC/ST students.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by limited funds, we approach them with a positive mindset, viewing them as opportunities for growth. Despite constraints, we are committed to providing the best possible facilities for our students. Looking ahead, we envision Islampur College as one of India’s finest educational institutions.
